More About This Item
Beautifully illustrated and produced new translation of the now classic and iconic children's story by pre-revolutionary Iranian author, Samad Behrangi (Beh-Rang) (1939-1968). Highly recommended!
About author:
Samad’s stories are notable for their realism and social significance and shape the lives of those who read them. In keeping with his desire to combat ignorance and poverty, they do not shield children from knowledge about life’s pain and harshness; they pay homage to the lives of the poor who continue their struggle to survive both physically and intellectually.
About translator:
Ruby Emam is a Seal Beach, California resident and has a Bachelor's Degree in English. "The Little Black Fish" is her first translation of Beh-Rang's stories into English, soon to be followed by "24 Hours Between Dream & Reality". While living in Iran, she translated Emily Brontë's "Wuthering Heights" into Persian.
